Capture the warning context
Identify the connector, current revision, warning appearance and intended material/process. Compare it with the instruction source approved for the receiving workflow. A warning in one configuration should not be interpreted using assumptions from another material or case.
Keep a review view showing the affected connector and enough neighboring context to explain the concern. Avoid sharing patient identifiers in a general help question. The reviewer needs the design question, not an unrelated case history.
Vendor-documented distinction
exocad’s connector manual describes red when automatic generation cannot meet configured minimum dimensions in a restricted space. It describes magenta areas when free-form editing makes a connector substantially thinner than the material parameters. It also documents thickness visualization and location/shape controls.
The display refers to configured constraints; it does not establish which material requirement applies to the actual case. Consult current documentation and the responsible receiving team before changing a design or a configuration.
Diagnostic sequence
- Confirm the intended material configuration and approved requirement source.
- Identify the exact connector and whether the warning appeared during generation or after an edit.
- Inspect the documented measurement/visualization context in the current release.
- Report conflicts between available space and the approved requirement rather than silently changing the requirement.
- After an authorized design change, repeat affected checks and identify replacement outputs.
This guide provides no universal connector dimension or material substitution. The responsible team must resolve conflicts that cannot be handled within the agreed supported assignment.
Limitations and Louie validation
Louie should validate the warning descriptions and visible tools in the actual DentalCAD release with an authorized practice case. Record the material configuration and whether the behavior was reproduced. A warning disappearing does not prove overall restoration suitability.
Keep the connector review evidence with the release manifest and current revision. Software feedback supports review; it does not replace current manufacturer requirements or responsible manufacturing approval.
