Describe the slow stage
Record the exact product, release, modules and computer specification. Identify whether the difficulty occurs during import, view navigation, calculation, saving, transfer or concurrent work. Include the case scope and other applications running. A report that CAD is slow does not isolate a component.
Vendor requirements establish a support baseline. exocad publishes separate minimum and workload examples; 3Shape distinguishes workstation and large-lab architecture requirements. Neither source provides a benchmark result for your case, so this guide makes no numerical speed or savings claim.
Component questions to ask
| Component | Useful question | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Which observed operation is limited? | Stage, case and utilization observation |
| GPU | Is the exact adapter supported and active? | Model, driver and vendor confirmation |
| RAM | Does the issue coincide with concurrent workload? | Task list and memory observation |
| Storage | Where are active files and database stored? | Approved location and stage timings |
| Network | Is the delay transfer or local processing? | Transfer path and comparison conditions |
| Display | Is navigation usable at actual scaling? | Resolution, scaling and visible UI |
A utilization observation is a lead for technical support, not a diagnosis by itself. Avoid changing several components and software settings simultaneously if the goal is to understand one symptom. Keep the original state documented.
Compare like with like
For an authorized practice comparison, use the same case revision and software build, then document what changed. Note power conditions, other running tasks, file locations and network access. Report an observation as measured in those conditions rather than promising it applies to every restorative case.
Choose the next action with the reseller or IT owner: confirm support, investigate a repeatable symptom, or evaluate a proposed upgrade. Keep a rollback plan for configuration changes. New hardware does not supply missing scan data, a valid component identity or a manufacturing approval.
When preparing a purchase brief, rank the actual workflow needs: supportability, demonstrated receiving steps, service arrangements and recovery. Avoid choosing solely by the largest advertised memory number or a processor family name.
Review boundary
Technical review pending — unverified locally. Unverified locally: Louie must validate terminology, actual workflow dependencies and practice-case applicability. Source review is not software or clinical validation.
Use these worksheets to make uncertainty visible. They do not authorize a clinical decision, repair, production release or unsupported software configuration. Preserve original records and record who approved each change.
