Dental CAD Turnaround: What a Delivery Target Should Include

A quoted design time is useful only when both teams understand its starting point and endpoint. Separate record acceptance, design delivery, revision and manufacturing release.

Define when the clock starts

Does the target begin at upload, acceptance of complete records or confirmation of scope? Ask how missing components or unclear instructions affect the schedule. A timestamp on an incomplete upload cannot establish when design can responsibly begin.

Define what delivery means

A setup for review is different from a final manufacturing file. Clarify which stage is included and what approval must happen before the next stage. Full-arch and reference-driven cases may need milestone planning rather than one final deadline.

Allow for communication

Specify business hours, time zone and the person who can answer questions. Consolidate revision notes so the designer can work from one current brief. A next-day expectation is ambiguous across time zones and should be written as a specific agreed date and time.

Ask about revisions and rush work

Confirm whether revision targets differ from initial delivery and whether a rush request is actually accepted. New scans, components or clinical instructions can change scope. Do not treat a vendor’s general marketing statement as confirmation for a particular case.

Keep manufacturing in the schedule

Design delivery leaves import, review, manufacture and finishing to the receiving workflow. Pristine agrees case-specific targets before starting and does not publish a universal turnaround guarantee. Share the needed stage and downstream deadline when requesting a quote.
