SCAN & PRACTICE WORKFLOWS

Check Bridge Design Scope Before Choosing a Production Route

Separate documented CAD indications from the exact material, equipment and receiving workflow needed for a bridge.

Download the blank worksheet (CSV)

Define the requested bridge before comparing products

Record the intended support type, proposed units, production role and task: design proposal, editable project, manufacturing output or finished restoration. A software feature named bridge does not answer every one of those questions.

This guide checks workflow eligibility. Use the connector handoff guide for how to communicate a connector review; use the comparison worksheet to record practice priorities. Neither replaces responsible clinical selection or the applicable manufacturer instructions.

What the public product sources establish

3Shape's public TRIOS Design Studio page describes up to three-unit bridges. Its Produce section describes sending design files to integrated devices or saving STL through Save to folder. That page does not establish every material/device combination or native editing in another application.

exocad's ChairsideCAD page lists full-contour bridges including inlay, cantilever and Maryland bridges in its core indication section. It separately lists screw-retained crowns and bridges under the Implant Module. The page highlights ChairsideCAD 3.1 Rijeka, but a product-page check is not confirmation of an installed license or a clinically eligible case.

These are scoped public examples, not a universal system ranking. Do not transfer a three-unit claim to another 3Shape product or infer that every exocad installation has the Implant Module. Other products and exact release limits must be researched separately.

Build a chain of evidence for the production route

Capture the specific document revision and applicability for each layer. If a required layer is missing, identify the blocked decision and owner; do not fill a compatibility cell from a generic open-STL statement.

LayerEvidence needed
Design eligibilityExact product/release, indication and module entitlement.

External handoffAgreed file role, receiver configuration, observed authorized test and change ownership.
ReleaseCurrent records, responsible approvals and final output manifest.

Two practical review examples

Hypothetical example: a practice wants a three-unit design in TRIOS Design Studio, then asks whether its existing mill/material can produce it. Record the public design-scope evidence, but hold the production choice until the exact material and device documentation is confirmed. A design file opening in CAM does not prove eligibility.

Hypothetical example: a ChairsideCAD user requests an implant-supported bridge handoff. Confirm the applicable module and exact component/library chain, then agree whether Pristine is reviewing, editing or returning manufacturing files. Access, entitlement and receiving behavior need a configuration-specific pilot; no integration is promised.

Louie validation and limits

Technical review pending — unverified locally. Louie must validate the actual installed product/module, receiving route and Pristine service scope. A material/equipment compatibility matrix remains blocked until exact current manufacturer instructions and authorized observations are supplied. No connector dimensions or release settings are recommended.

The CSV is a blank operational worksheet with no patient data, executable code, configuration pack or clinical/manufacturing values. It does not perform an installation or authorize a production change. Examples in this guide are hypothetical, not measured results or approved Pristine case evidence.
