Separate three identifiers
The internal reference identifies the work without patient names. The package revision identifies this collection of files. The status identifies what the receiver may do with it. Keep those fields separate so a review packet cannot look like a manufacturing release.
| Observation or task | Action and evidence |
|---|---|
| Reference | Use the sender and receiver's agreed internal reference; confirm any mapping separately. |
| Revision | Assign a new package revision when included geometry, source set or instructions change. |
| Status | Use an agreed review or released label, backed by the manifest and approval record. |
Worked package example
Hypothetical LAB-T017_R03_review contains the selected review files and a manifest identifying their roles. LAB-T017_R04_released is a later, separately approved collection; its manifest records which R03 files it replaces. Neither label proves that approval happened.
Do not rewrite every embedded filename to R04. Record original filenames and their package membership in the manifest. Preserve project references and sidecar associations until the software provider confirms a safe rename procedure.
Identify the receiver's required file roles
exocad documents merged restoration meshes named with an _cad.stl suffix, construction-information files and a separate saved scene. These serve different purposes. A scene is not automatically the manufacturing deliverable, and a sidecar is not proof that a particular CAM system consumes it.
Ask the receiver which roles are required, whether a directory structure must be retained and how they acknowledge replacement packages. Record the answer before selecting the delivery contents.
Use the naming worksheet
List one row per delivered file role, then compare the worksheet with the actual package listing. Check that review and released packets are separated and that the receiving person can identify the superseded revision without opening every file.
Validation and limits
Louie validation pending — unverified locally. Confirm permitted package structure, accepted outputs and naming conventions with Louie and the receiving CAM provider. No filename or construction-information compatibility is confirmed.
Use internal references in the blank worksheet. Examples are hypothetical; applicable instructions and responsible approvals govern real work.
