LABORATORY PLANNING TOOL

Dental CAD Cost Model Calculator

Use your own monthly cost and handling-time inputs to compare two design cost models. No vendor price, wage assumption or promised savings is built in.

Model the same work.

Use one consistent month and case mix. A comparable unit must mean the same deliverable in both models. Include the cost of preparation, clarification and review in handling time.

Allocated cost differences are not automatically cash savings. Payroll and software may remain even when work is outsourced; enter retained costs explicitly. Capacity benefits, quality and revision scope require a separate evaluation.

Inputs stay in this page while it is open. This tool does not send or save them.

What the model calculates

Outsourced design invoices = approved units × quoted price per unit.

Internal handling cost = approved units × handling minutes ÷ 60 × loaded hourly staff cost.

Outsourced monthly model = design invoices + handling cost + retained monthly costs.

Internal unit model = allocated monthly internal design cost ÷ comparable approved units.

Model difference = internal monthly model − outsourced monthly model. A positive difference means the outsourced model is lower under your inputs; a negative difference means it is higher. This is a scenario comparison, not a forecast.
